After having integrating the new message extension for mobile adverts in AdWords, Google is currently testing another functionality in My Business this time, which lets consumers chat privately with local businesses.
This new service is being rolled out in Search and Maps for businesses as three elements:
- A contact button
- A short text stating that the company is ready and available to receive messages
- The normal response time

This service is currently available for a limited number of companies pre-selected by Google.
These companies have been informed of their selection by e-mail and can always withdraw from the trial using the dashboard.
